Our mountain biking adventure :)

Today Tim and I rented some bikes (and helmets) and headed up to Boulder to ride. We went just outside of Boulder to a trail called Batasso. It was a 3 1/2 mile loop, and was luckily a pretty easy ride. Tim and I saw a lady with spandex shorts with funny padding on the butt. We had a good laugh, but halfway through our ride we decided we wanted a pair of those funny looking spandex shorts and an enormous bike seat. As I'm typing this I'm icing my rear end...hahaha...too much info??
After we finished Batasso we went to Nederland to try some of those trails. The lady at the visitor center showed us where to go, and told us they were pretty easy trails. About a half mile into the trail (straight up a bumpy mountain) we decided that we were too tired, and the trail might be too hard. Funny thing...after we returned the bikes to the rental shop and told the guy where we went he just laughed and said they were expert trails. hahaha. Stupid visitor center lady.
Anyhoo...after we gave up on the "expert" trail we went back down to Boulder and road up and down along the river. There are some...how do I put this nicely...interesting people there! We watched the people tubing down the river and even dipped our feet in to cool off.
It was a pretty fun day!
Here are some pictures from the day:

We have smiles on our faces here because we hadn't started biking yet, and our butts were feeling comfortable. This is the parking lot that we saw the lady with the funny shorts.
Our camera isn't the greatest, but from the top of the mountain we were on you could see Boulder. I think those buildings are CU campus, but then again I'm not a tour guide. :)On the trail we ran right into this deer who didn't mind us stopping to take pictures.
Pretty...
Nice helmet hair huh?!?!

Now I'm starting to feel like a biking pro, but not until I get those padded spandex shorts...

Mary's Birthday Party!!

Mary turned the big 28 so we had a little birthday BBQ here at our house. It was a good time!

Cheese!!!
So thrilled to be wearing her b-day hat and glasses I made her put on...I'm sure she'll be thrilled that I'm putting it on my blog. (sorry Mary)
This is Mary and her brother Mark.
Kaylie was the life of the party!
Jason and Nick took over grilling duty since Tim was working. :( They did a great job though. Just don't get in their way...Jason isn't nice with a knife in his hands. Yikes!!!

Savoy holding Kaylie. His daughter Aslyn (I hope I spelled that right) is in the back with Lilly. She's moving to California to be a nanny, and she took care of Lilly all night. She'll be a great nanny!
This is Aslyn with her sister Morgan. They played with Lilly all night...even changed diapers!!!
Jenn and Nick...I swear Nick is friendly, but apparently doesn't smile in pictures. Hahaha
This is Jenn after a few drinks. Jenn...I know you'll love that I posted this picture. :)
This is me, Mary, Jenn (Savoy's wife), and Carolyn (Mark's girlfriend).

What a fun night. Happy birthday Mary!!!

What's new?

I take about a million pictures so it's hard for me to pick which ones to share. :)

Here's Lilly at John and Debbie's house enjoying the back porch. Under her feet out of view is a little pond that she loves to put her feet into. She looks so innocent in these pictures, but also like she's in jail. Poor little thing.

Last week Lilly and I went to City Pool with Missy, her friend, and their kiddos. Lilly had a blast swimming with the big kids.
So I have some exciting news...Lilly took her first steps yesterday. This is her the day before standing tall. She stands so easily now, and occasionally takes a step. Yesterday she took 3 steps!!!
Here is a video of her in the front yard today. We were trying to get her to walk for the camera so I could put it on my blog, but she was camera shy. It's still a cute video clip (except for our crazy dog).

Speaking of crazy dog...this is his favorite thing to do (especially if the grass is wet or muddy).

Jill and Kaylie came over the other day, and I just can't stop taking pictures of her. She is so darn cute...so is Jill. :)

Ahhh.....
When Kaylie gets fussy she likes to suck on Jill's finger, but she obviously didn't want it here. Jill and I were laughing so hard. Such a disgusted face. hahaha

Lilly's friend Chance (our ring bear in the wedding) came over to hang out, and he is so good with her and makes her laugh.

He loves to help her walk, and takes it very seriously!

Daddy's girl???

Okay...so I was looking through old pictures and I came across this picture of Tim when he was probably Lilly's age now. I couldn't find a recent picture of Lilly sleeping without a pacifier, but her mouth looks identical to Tim's picture when she is sleeping. There's no doubt she takes after her daddy. Ahhh.... I guess she gets his good looks and my brains :)

Zoo time :)

Last week Lilly, Debbie (aka -Granny Piel ; aka -Tim's mom), and I went to the zoo. It was such a perfect day, and the zoo wasn't crowded at all. We had so much fun. Typically Lilly is more interested in the kids at the zoo than the animals, but this time she was waving and laughing at the animals (so cute).

We went early enough in the day when it wasn't so hot so the animals were out moving and playing...except for this lazy bear relaxing in the tree.

Lilly rode the carousel with Granny Piel and got freaked out when the animal started going up and down so we decided to take her on the train instead. She thought it was okay, but wanted to stand up and move most of the time. I guess she's too young to enjoy the ride and scenery.
Since Lilly is such a monkey she has a bond with the monkeys. :)
What a cute little monkey she is....hahahaha.
Ahhh...who doesn't love a polar bear?
Every time I go to the zoo the dang rhinos are just standing around. They were actually getting in the water and moving around. (sorry for the butt shot)
After several hours, Lilly finally got pooped out. Zzzzzz

What's Lilly been up to???

Lilly has been very busy so far this summer. Here are a few of the things she has been up to.

Dressing up in matching outfits with Kaylie...already. (thanks Grams!)
Getting into EVERYTHING. She has claimed our stereo drawer as her own, and has filled it with her toys (and herself).

She has been helping clean out the refrigerator.

She's also good about putting toys into the dishwasher to get cleaned.
After all that cleaning, she enjoys taking a walk through the backyard with her dad.
Once monday comes, her Grandpa D. puts her to work in his office...hopefully she'll take over the company someday.
Grandpa D. built a new office for his company, and since Aunt Jill is on maternity leave Lilly is setting up shop and taking over until she returns.Whew...what a busy life Lilly leads.

4th of July!!!

We had a little family get-together for the 4th, and Kaylie had the cutest outfit on.

Jill was able to have her first beer in over 9 months!
Tim is happy to be an uncle too...

We bought Lilly a little pool, and we can't keep her out of it. She would spend all day in it if you let her.
